Park Meetup

The weather in south Texas has finally cooled down enough that we were able to venture out to a playground for our Saturday meetup. We had a great turnout and were able to help many parents get comfortable using wraps, ringslings, mei tais, and soft structured carriers.

For this mama's second try with Front Wrap Cross Carry, I mostly just observed and tried to stay hands-off.

 This mom also had her toddler on her back in a soft structured carrier and since he fell asleep, she then managed to lay him down in the carrier into the stroller. Genius!

Babe ended up a little low (which would be great for nursing!), but with some adjusting and tightening, I think mama and babe could be super comfy.

 This mom needed some help with strand by strand tightening. Once she masters it, babe will be snug to her body and both will be very comfy!

Another Wrap Intensive

We hosted another wrap intensive today with just 2 leaders and 4 mamas. It was a nice intimate atmosphere to help mamas learns to wrap their babies.

 This new mama snuggled with her 8 week old in a front wrap cross carry using a Wrapsody hybrid stretch wrap.

 This kind mama learned to wrap her 17 month old in a reinforced ruck using Didymos Krokus Indio.

 Perfecting secure high back carry using our lending library's woven wrap, Natibaby Izer with linen.

First Ever Wrap Intensive

We had a blast at our first ever "wrap intensive." We had 3 mamas present to work with a group of 8 mamas on wrapping exclusively. Wrapping tends to have a steep learning curve and requires practice and often individual instruction in order to become proficient, but it's so worth it!

 This mama worked on front carries with her 1 month old in a beautiful Ellaroo woven wrap.

 This awesome mama is working toward her babywearing instructor certification and showed off her perfect double hammock with a fake baby (for demonstration purposes) in Girasol Mojito.

 Double hammock seemed to be the carry of the day. Here this mama and baby get cozy in Vatanai Maruyama.

 Even my big girl (almost 4!) wanted to go up for a bit. Even with a bit of a pregnant belly, Diva Milano Merletti Maronne Blu was up to the task!

 Tightening strand by strand is one of the most important skills to master when it comes to wrapping.

 One of the most commonly asked questions is, "How did you get him up there on your back?!" There are a few methods, but here it looks like this mama is getting ready to hip scoot her babe onto her back.

First Friday in August

We had a fabulous Friday meeting in August, full of eager mamas wanting to learn how to keep their little ones close while enjoying the convenience of having one's hands free.

Our lending library is now big enough to require a suitcase to tote it around!

This new mama of a 12 week old is brand new to babywearing. She tried out a ringsling and a woven wrap, but she and baby got most cozy in a Moby stretchy wrap tied into a Front Wrap Cross Carry.

This beautiful mama wore her 6 month old to sleep in a Storchenweige woven wrap tied into a Semi Front Wrap Cross Carry.

Here this mama is using a woven wrap (Didymos Lisca Arancia) for the first time with her 9 month old. Mama was astounded by how comfortable it was!

This solarveil toddler-sized Kinderpack is a perfect fit on this mama and her 15 month old. Kinderpacks are so comfy and well-made.

This little babe is not so fond of front carries, so he is loving his first back ride in a woven wrap (Didymos Jorinde, from our lending library) tied into a Secure High Back Carry.

This beautiful mama is nursing her baby in a rebozo tied with a Bara Barn short wrap. Babywearing makes hands-free nursing possible!

Another nursing mama and a mama on her way to becoming a babywearing educator joined us at our meeting. We were so grateful for her help!

Our meetings are full of fun and excitement. They're for both learning and socializing, and all are welcome!
